Acceptable use policy

Last updated 12 October 2026. The few rules that keep Tariffly safe and lawful for everyone who uses it.

This policy is part of our terms of service. It applies to everyone who uses Tariffly, including people you invite to your workspace and people who email documents to your intake address. If you see a breach, tell us at iahnaf210@gmail.com.

Use Tariffly for what it is for

Tariffly is for preparing and checking customs documentation for lawful trade. You may not use it:

  • to prepare documents for goods whose import or export is prohibited, or to help evade sanctions, embargoes, anti-dumping measures, duties, taxes or permit requirements;
  • to deliberately misdescribe, undervalue or misclassify goods, or to produce documents intended to mislead a customs authority or any other person;
  • to present AI drafts to a customs authority, a client or an insurer as a verified professional opinion without the review the terms require.

Respect other people’s data

  • Upload only documents you have the right to use, and only the personal information a shipment needs.
  • Do not upload health, biometric, government-identifier or other sensitive personal information unless a customs requirement genuinely calls for it.
  • Keep your intake address and invitations to people who are allowed to create shipments in your workspace.

Keep the service safe

  • No attempts to access other workspaces, bypass security, probe or overload the service, or interfere with other users.
  • No malware, no scraping, no automated bulk submission beyond what your plan allows, no reselling access.
  • No reverse engineering of the service, and no attempts to extract our prompts, models or configuration, or to use outputs to build a competing classification model.
  • Each person uses their own account; shared logins are not allowed.

AI provider rules

Our AI provider, Anthropic, has a usage policy that applies to everything processed through its models. Using Tariffly to break it is a breach of this policy. In particular, customs and trade compliance is treated as a high-risk use, which is why a qualified person at your organisation must review every draft and why we label outputs as AI-assisted.

What happens if this policy is breached

Depending on how serious it is, we may warn you, remove content, suspend accounts or the workspace, or end the agreement. Where the law requires, we may report unlawful activity to the authorities. We will tell you what we did and why, unless the law prevents it or telling you would put someone at risk, and we restore access as soon as the problem is fixed.
